What differentiates microcredentials, courses, and qualifications at UCCA, and how does their assessment work?
- Microcredentials: These are compact, focused learning experiences designed to provide you with specific skills or knowledge in a particular area. They are shorter than a full course and are perfect for updating your skills with the latest industry trends. The assessment in microcredentials is largely self-driven, involving quizzes and self-evaluations. Though there's no direct interaction with a tutor, you'll gain valuable industry-relevant abilities.
- Courses: Courses at UCCA cover a broader range of topics and offer more comprehensive knowledge in a specific field. They might be a part of a qualification program or can be taken independently for personal or professional development. Courses involve online assessments and interaction with real tutors who provide valuable feedback and guidance. Upon successful completion, you receive a Certificate of Competency, a recognition of your proficiency benchmarked against industry standards.
- Qualifications: These are structured programs of study leading to an official recognition like a Certificate, Diploma, or Advanced Diploma. They include multiple courses and provide a deep, comprehensive understanding of a particular field or trade. Qualifications involve more direct interaction with tutors and comprehensive assessments. Upon completion of a full qualification, you receive a Certificate of Attainment, signifying your mastery in your chosen field as per industry standards.
What is the cost of tuition and other fees, and what payment options do I have?
Individual courses and microcredentials are priced differently based on their content and length. However, to give you a general idea, our microcredentials are usually free while individual courses may carry a nominal fee.
As for qualifications, there are five levels with each increasing in complexity and depth of learning. Accordingly, the cost increases with each level, from Certificate 1 through to Advanced Diploma.
Remember, these costs cover not just your course material, but also access to our online learning platform, live tutorials, and personalized feedback and guidance from our experienced tutors.
To make your payment process seamless and secure, we use Stripe as our payment gateway. Stripe is a global online payment processor that is trusted by thousands of businesses across the globe. It uses best-in-class security tools and practices to maintain the highest level of security.
We accept all major credit cards.
For those who want to stagger their payments, we've partnered with Klarna and Afterpay to offer buy now, pay later options. We also support Apple Pay and Google Pay for added convenience.
To get detailed information about the tuition and other fees for a specific course or program, please visit the respective course or program page on our website. If you need further assistance, our admissions team is always available to help guide you through the costs associated with your education journey.
Does U.C.C.A. offer trial periods or refunds for its courses and programs?
If within 14 days of your enrollment, you decide that the course isn't right for you, we'll issue a refund.
To qualify for a refund, you must not have submitted any assignments for grading and you need to notify our Student Services team via the 'Request Refund' form on our platform.
Please note that the transaction fees from the original payment are not returned during a refund. This cost, generally 3.9% + 30c per transaction in the US, is outside our control and imposed by Stripe. Any refund will have these fees deducted by Stripe.
Our guarantee applies as long as you haven't completed more than 30% of your chosen course. We're committed to ensuring your satisfaction and confidence in your learning experience with us.
Can my U.C.C.A. trade or technical qualification be used as credit towards university entry or recognized as prior learning in the US?
This means that some may accept your U.C.C.A. qualification as credit towards your university degree, while others may not.
Recognition of prior learning is also unique to each university. If your UCCA course content closely aligns with the course you aim to study at university, it might be considered as prior learning.
It's important to check directly with the American university you're interested in. You might need to provide them with detailed information about your U.C.C.A. course and how it relates to your intended university study.
In summary, while it's possible your U.C.C.A. qualification could count towards your university study in the US, it's not a guaranteed process and depends on the specific policies of the university you're applying to. Always feel free to seek advice from an educational advisor or the university's admissions office.
